The Muslim Pro data scandal (2020): Vice Motherboard found that Muslim Pro — the world's most downloaded Islamic app with 98 million users — had sold granular location data to X-Mode, a broker that resold it to U.S. military contractors. Muslims were reading Qur'an, and their movements were being tracked. This is the world QuraLYT was built to change.

A note from the founder

I built QuraLYT alone. Not "we". Just me. No team, no funding, no company behind it. One person helped with an icon — and may Allah reward him for it. Everything else is mine, built in spare hours, between a job search and daily life, for one reason only: the pleasure of Allah and the hope of a good akhirah.

My life is waqf to this work. QuraLYT will launch whether you support it or not. Whether it takes six months or two years — it will happen. That part is not conditional on anyone.

But if the Ummah stands behind it — if you share it, make dua for it, or give even a small amount — every Muslim who reads an ayah through QuraLYT, every language that reaches a community no other app ever reached, every moment of reflection someone has because of this — you will have a share in all of it.
